The retaining wall is complete! On the way back from work to-day I managed to buy one more tube of glue at Ace Hardware before they closed and then glued the remaining caps ( Read more... )

Used 3 tubes of masonry glue today to affix the cap pieces onto the retaining wall. I was able to glue all pieces on the top down to the root at the sidewalk side of the wall. I figure I need just one more tube to finish glueing all the pieces ( Read more... )

After work today...and after I was blessed by a short commute time (only 37 minutes, which is unusual for 5 p.m.)...I put on my gloves, grabbed a pair of scissors, and opened gravel bags to dump them behind the retaining wall. I did this for the top half of the U, then covered with landscape fabric, then decided to do the bottom of the U as well ( Read more... )

Tried to cut a cap piece today with the Mikita 4 inch diamond blade saw. Didn't work: did not get a smooth edge, which meant I did not get a tight seam with the neighboring pieces ( Read more... )
